What is the Module Setup tab in Module Configuration?
The Module Setup tab holds the on/off switches and numeric settings that control how a specific module behaves. System administrators can view these settings for any module. This article explains what the tab shows and how to change a setting.
Open the Module Setup tab
- Go to Account Settings and click Module Configuration.
- Select the module from the left panel.
- Click the Module Setup tab.
What you see
Settings appear in a list with five columns:
- Description: the name of the setting
- Value: the current setting
- Type: the kind of value, such as a checkbox or a number
- Modified: the date it was last changed
- By: who changed it
Use the search bar to find a setting by name. The exact list of settings varies by module.
Change a setting
- Click the setting name or its row.
- For a checkbox setting, check the box to turn it on or uncheck it to turn it off. For a number setting, enter the new value.
- Save your change.
Changes take effect immediately. There is no preview, so confirm the value you want before saving.
A common example
Enforce Required Fields on Admin Forms controls whether staff must fill in required fields before saving a record. When it is on (a value of 1, or checked), staff cannot save a record with a required field left blank. When it is off (a value of 0, or unchecked), staff can save without filling those fields. Required fields on your public forms may still be enforced for applicants either way.
If you cannot change a setting
Some settings on this tab are maintained by our team. If a setting you need to change is not editable, or you are not sure what a setting does, reach out to our support team with the module name and the setting name, and tell us what you want it to do.
PLACEHOLDER: [Confirm which Module Setup settings are editable by customer system administrators and which are locked, so this section can say so clearly.]
✅ Pro Tip: The Modified and By columns tell you when a setting last changed and who changed it. Check them first if a module suddenly behaves differently.
