What is the Log? / How do I view user, module, or record activity?

Access system-wide or record-specific activity—including edits, payments, and emails—from one central location

Want to know who made changes to a record, when it was updated, or whether an email was sent? The Log is where you’ll find that information.

The Log view in GovPilot is a centralized audit tool that lets you view system activity. This includes changes made to records, payment history, and all outgoing emails—making it a valuable reference point for administrators and users tracking recent record activity.

You can access the Log in two ways:

1. From the Home Page (Global Log)

To access the Global Log from the Home Page, look at the left-hand navigation menu and click Log or the Folder icon. This opens the global view, which includes all activity across all modules and records.

This opens a full-screen view with three tabs:

Record History tab

View a full list of record edits and activity.

Includes:

  • Action type (Edit, New, Clone, Property Change, etc.)

  • Record number

  • Date and time
  • User who performed the action
  • Address

  • Module

Search and filter by:

  • Date range

  • Address

  • Module

  • Keywords

Click a record to see the details of field changes in the right Changed Information panel.

Payment Transaction tab

See payment activity submitted through GovPilot.

Includes:

  • Payment date

  • User

  • Module

  • Cardholder name

  • Amount

  • Transaction details

Click on any transaction to see additional Transaction Details in the right hand panel.

Correspondence tab

Track outgoing system emails.

Includes:

  • Date and time

  • User
  • Module

  • Recipient email address

  • Attachment (Yes/No)

  • Email Template or Mail Merge Name
  • Status (e.g., Sent)

Click a row to view the content of the email in the right panel.

You’ll also have the option to Resend emails if needed.

2. From an Individual Record

You can also access a record-specific Log by clicking the Log button in the bottom-right corner of a record's form view.

This brings up the same three tabs—but the content is limited to that specific record. You won’t see filters in this view, but it’s helpful when reviewing changes, payments, or sent emails for a particular record.
