How do I renew a dog license in person?

Process a returning applicant’s renewal directly from their existing record.

If a resident comes into the office to renew their dog license instead of submitting a renewal via the online form, you can process the renewal directly from the existing record in Form View.


To renew a license in person:

  1. Open the resident’s current dog license record in Form View.

  2. In the bottom left toolbar, click the Renew button.

  3. The Renew the License popup will open.

    • In the Updates to existing record (previous year’s application) section, set the Renewal Status to Renewed. This marks the prior year’s license as renewed.

    • In the Updates to new record (renewal application) section, check the boxes for the information you want to copy into the new year’s application.

      • Recommended settings: Check Attach and Dog License Notes, but leave Dog License No. and Dog License Transactions unchecked so the new record starts clean with a new license number and new payment details.

    • (Optional) Select Remember my choices so these settings are saved for the next renewal.



  4. When all your settings are good to go, click Renew.

The new year’s license record will open. If the resident is paying in person, go to the Transactions tab of the new record and add the payment details before issuing the license as usual. 


When you renew:

  • A new record is created for the new license year, with the selected information carried over.

  • The previous year’s record is automatically updated to show Renewal Status = Renewed.
