How do I remove a user’s access to a module or group?

Remove access to a specific module or module group when a user no longer needs it for their role.

When a user's responsibilities change or they no longer need access to certain areas of GovPilot, you can remove their access to specific modules or module groups. This helps streamline their dashboard, protects sensitive data, and keeps permissions aligned with their current duties.

Steps to remove access:

  1. From the Home Page, click the gear icon to open Account Settings.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click User Role Management.

  3.  Click the User Management tab.

  4. Locate the user and click their blue highlighted email address to open their User Details.

  5. In the Role Information section, Click the red "" Button next to the module or group you want to remove.

  6. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Remove it to confirm.

  7. Click Save to apply the changes.

Best practices:

  • Review a user’s module access during role changes, department transfers, or offboarding.

  • Only remove access the user truly no longer needs—if unsure, check with their supervisor or team lead.

  • After removing access, the module and its views will no longer appear on the user's Dashboard.
