How do I clone (copy) a record?
Use the Clone button and wizard to duplicate a record into a new entry with identical fields and values.
If you need to create a new record similar to an existing one —you can save time by cloning it. Cloning creates a brand-new record with the same values pre-filled, so you don’t need to re-enter duplicate information. You’ll also have the option to choose what information to remove in the cloned record. This includes subtables—grids of related data found in the record’s tabbed sections—such as transactions, notes, or attachments.
Steps to clone a record
-
Open the record you want to clone.
-
In the bottom left record bar, click the Clone button. This will launch the Cloning Wizard.
-
Select an address option. Choose how the address should carry over in the cloned record:
-
Same Address – Use the same location as the original.
-
Different Address – A search field labeled "Find a Property" will appear. Begin typing the new address, then select it from the dropdown to assign a different address to the cloned record.
-
Different Multiple Addresses – Use this to create multiple records, one for each address you select. Begin typing each address into the "Find a Property" box, selecting them one at a time. Use the trash icon to remove any address you’ve added by mistake.
-
-
Choose which sub-records to Clone.
By default, all sub-records—such as attachments, inspections, notes, and transactions—are included in the cloned record. This step lets you control exactly what gets carried over to the new record.-
To exclude sub-records: Click a subrecord from the Included Sub-records list on the right, then click the single left arrow to move it to the Removed Sub-records list.
- To exclude all sub-records at once: Click the double left arrow button to move all items into the Removed list. You can then selectively move back only the subrecords you want to include using the single right arrow.
- Once you're done making your selections, click Next.
-
-
Review the details and Click Clone: A new record will be generated based on your selections.
-
Notice the yellow bar at the bottom indicates the cloned record hasn't been saved. Make any final edits if needed, then click Save or Save & Close to complete the process.
