How do I add or remove fields in the Data Viewer? / How do I customize the columns in my view?

Customize your view by choosing which fields (columns) are visible in the Data Viewer.

In the Data Viewer, you can control which columns (also called fields) are displayed by accessing the Fields menu. This allows you to tailor the layout to to focus on what matters to you most.

To customize the columns in a view:

  1. Open the Data Viewer
Navigate to the module and view you want to customize. The current view is highlighted in blue so you can easily tell which one you’re working in.

  2. Click the Fields button in the toolbar above the records table.

  3. Identify the fields you want to keep or remove:
    • Use the search bar at the top of the Fields menu to locate a specific field by name.
    • Or scroll through the list using the vertical scroll bar on the right to browse available fields.

  4. Turn fields on or off by clicking the toggle next to each field name.
    • When toggled on (green), the column is included in your view and appears at the top of the list.

    • When toggled off (gray), the column is hidden from view.

  5. Reorder fields by dragging and dropping them using the three-line handle beside each field name.

  6. Click “Hide All” at the top of the Fields menu to hide every column, then re-enable only the ones you need.

  7. Click outside the Fields menu to close it and apply your changes immediately.

  8. 💡 To preserve your layout:

    • Click Save to apply the changes to the current view. The next time you return to this view, it will look exactly the same.

    • Click Save As to create a brand new view based on your changes. You’ll be prompted to give it a name, and it will be saved in the Views list for future use.
